Summary:

Description/Requirements

Responsible for maintaining customer accounts at the city level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct, organize, and implement sales strategies and technical efforts.
  • Generate new revenue through new account development and sales and service to existing accounts.
  • Review work plans to schedule activities.
  • Obtain product information and identify vendors and suppliers.
  • Maintain customer accounts through frequent contact.
  • Provide feedback on service quality and assist in problem solving.
  • Submit pricing that is in alignment with the company.
  • Coordinate sales efforts.
  • Negotiate pricing agreements / dedicated fleet contracts.
  • Establish MSA’s and credit.
  • Coordinate events for promotion of future customers.
  • Mentor Sales Associates.
  • Review customer activity, offering advice in areas of interest.
  • Report all new and existing accounts to City Sales Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Educational and Other Requirements:

  • Sr. Account Manager: Minimum 2 – 5 years as Account Manager.
  • Account Manager: Minimum of 1 – 3 years as Sales Representative.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  • Must be computer proficient.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Proven communication and organizational skills to coordinate, communicate, and implement company goals.
  • Sensitive to confidential information.
  • Must work independently and as a member of team.

Mental and Physical Requirements:

  • Able to read, speak and write English.
  • Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload.
  • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
  • Communication - phone communication, communication with personnel and vendors.
  • Climbing – able to go up, down and over equipment in a safe manner using good judgment and proper safety equipment as is required.
  • Position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week dependent on workload.
  • Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty striving for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication.
  • Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
  • Performs day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Uses computers and computer systems to set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships and maintaining them over time
  • Dependable, reliable, fulfills responsibilities.
