FTS International owns and operates sand mines, raw sand processing plants and resin coating plants to provide a reliable source of proppant for the company's operations. Proppants are usually grains of sand, sometimes coated with a special resin to make them stronger, that prop open subsurface fractures in the rock to increase production of oil or gas.
